In addition to softening the appearance of existing wrinkles, because Botox and Xeomin can block excessive forehead movement, it can also help prevent against the formation of new wrinkles. It is important to understand that although this treatment is not permanent, if done improperly, or by an untrained or experienced person, it can cause undesirable results such as drooping of the brow or lips, or even a frozen or glassy look to the forehead. Botox Treatment and Recovery
It may take up to two weeks to see the full results of Botox or Xeomin. Some patients experience some redness, bruising or swelling at the injection site, but this usually resolves itself within a couple of days. Best results are usually on the forehead for “frown lines”, around the eyes for “crow’s feet”, between the eyes for vertical frown lines, sometimes referred to the “11’s”, on the sides of the nasal bridge for radiating lines (“bunny lines”), and also in the neck bands.
