SculpSure is the “go to” procedure for non-invasive fat reduction | Dr. John Park

SculpSure is fast becoming the “go to” procedure for non-invasive fat reduction and has recently been seen on Good Morning America, The Doctors, and E! News. Let’s review a few ways SculpSure is turning up the heat.

Fat Reduction technology: Sculpture’s technology is based on controlled hyperthermic, or a technique called temperature injury. Heating the fat cells to target temperatures, causes injury; then, the body’s immune system steps in to clear the body of those cells, causing the treated area to shrink. Sounds too good to be true? Wait, because there is more.

SculpSure Treatment Time: The ideal length of time for each SculpSure treatment is 25 minutes, which is less than half of the recommended 60-minute cycle for CoolSculpting. SculpSure gets the job done quickly, and the treatment has been described as a warm, soothing feeling. What could be better than losing fat and feeling good while you’re losing it?

How SculpSure Works: SculpSure works by passing a laser light through the skin to achieve target temperatures of 42 to 47 degrees Celsius. This temperature shocks the fat cells, and they die over a few weeks time. As the targeted fat is being heated, the applicator head is chilling the skin. So, consequently, this is a procedure that can treat all skin types because there’s no reaction in the skin. It doesn’t matter what your complexion is, as the skin is not affected.

How CoolSculpting Works: In contrast, CoolSculpting, another fat reduction option, is performed by sucking, pulling and cooling fat between two plates. With the SculpSure device, there is no suction; there is no pulling of the tissue. The device lays flat on top of the skin, while energy penetrates into the tissue and causes damage to the targeted fat areas.

SculpSure Applicators: SculpSure’s four separate applicator heads can treat multiple areas at once. CoolSculpting limits areas treated by the applicator shape and size. And, should the patient have skin that is taut, it may be difficult, if not impossible to be able to suck the skin into the applicator.
