Many women who are considering breast augmentation wonder if they should wait until after they are done having children to enhance their bust line. Unfortunately, the answer to this question is not clear-cut.
The main concern with whether or not to wait to have the breast augmentation surgery or not, is how will one or more pregnancies/nursing change your breasts. This is because breasts can change dramatically due to pregnancy and breast-feeding. Some women have breasts that look quite different after going through childbearing, yet some women’s breasts may not change at all. Having previous children and noting the change in breasts is a good indicator of what will happen when pregnant again.
Breast implants present no risk or danger to you or your unborn child, and women can also be comfortable in knowing that breastfeeding should be normal regardless of implants.
One might gain insight when thinking of how big or small the breast are. Generally, smaller breasts usually have less change, whereas larger breasts tend to sag earlier. Then, taking into account added pregnancy weight and fluctuation within the breast during and after pregnancy, the larger breasts may see more change. Some women who were previously thinking of an augmentation alone might benefit from an augmentation with lift (mastopexy), especially if the breasts are larger in size.
