Sagging Breast Solutions: Breast Augmentation With Lift May Be The Answer

Breast ptosis or breast sagging is an issue not uncommon as women age. There are a few factors involved in ptosis, that include gravity, weight gain and weight loss, pregnancies and the skin’s overall age and elasticity.

It’s good to know that breast ptosis can be easily corrected by a plastic surgeon. A breast lift can raise the breasts amazingly well and regain that younger, premier look that many women desire. In more severe cases, a breast lift with breast augmentation (implants) may be recommended for the best result. Your board certified plastic surgeon can help you regain the look you desire.

Measuring Ptosis And Determining If A Breast Lift Is For You

Ptosis is measured by how far your breasts hang over your inframammary crease. This is the line where the chest and breasts meet. A ruler placed there will help you view the position of your nipples. If your nipples are below the top of the ruler, then you have ptosis. The further down your nipples fall, the more severe the ptosis is. In some cases, the areola merely has stretched out. This may be a simple asymmetry issue with or without ptosis present.

Breast Lift with Augmentation

For mild cases of ptosis, a simple breast lift will usually solve your problem. However, many times it is necessary for a surgeon to perform an augmentation in tandem with a breast lift. This is especially true if the breasts have lost volume. While breast implants usually make breasts larger, that is not always the case when it is done with a breast lift. Excess tissue can be removed and replaced with an implant to give you the same breast size. As a result, the breasts will look firmer and more youthful. Areola size can also be decreased to give your breasts a younger look.

There are indeed options with breast augmentations and breast lifts. If you are interested in finding out more information regarding a surgical procedure such as this, Dr. John Park can show you the way by calling (949) 777-6883.
