25 May Welcome | John Park MD Plastic Surgery
As a Cosmetic Surgeon in Newport Beach, double Board Certified in both Plastic Surgery and Ophthalmology with sub-specialty training in Oculofacial Plastic Surgery, I have had the privilege of taking care of women and men with various aesthetic concerns. What I have learned is that every patient is unique. Every patient is unique. A person’s natural physique, facial features, height, weight, age, existing medical conditions, goals & expectations, social & family support base, allowable recovery time, and overall health must be considered in tailoring a treatment plan customized for THAT patient, and that patient alone. For example, one woman may benefit from supplementary liposuction of the lateral chest with breast augmentation to further define the breast silhouette in relation to the lateral chest and to narrow the torso, whereas a more important consideration for a woman with a narrower chest would be to choose an implant with a base diameter that fits her torso.
While each patient has unique goals & expectations and equally distinct physical characteristics that must be taken into account to achieve the ideal result for that patient, most patients considering cosmetic surgery, whether a facelift, breast augmentation or tummy tuck, share a common desire for a significant improvement and a natural result. The very best way to achieve that is to choose an experienced surgeon who will make customized recommendations based on you and what makes you special. In other words, the surgical plan should be tailored just for you.
The task of researching doctors and learning about the many surgical and non-surgical treatments out there can be daunting. It is the responsibility of your surgeon to explain plainly and clearly the various options. In your surgeon, you should expect to find a physician who listens carefully to what bothers you and what you hope to achieve. You should expect to be presented the various options best suited for you in a non-pressured environment, complete with the advantages and disadvantages, including risks, as well as a discussion as to why one option or another might be best suited for YOU. You should expect to have all your questions answered. You should expect your surgeon to be well-trained, experienced and Board Certified in Plastic Surgery.
I take a great deal of pride in taking excellent care of my patients. A key part of that is empowering my patients by helping them thoroughly understand the various options, so that they can make the best informed decision for themselves. That is the primary inspiration behind this blog: to become a place where women and men considering plastic surgery can come to learn about various procedures and treatments, updates on new technologies and techniques, and be better equipped when he or she comes in for a face to face consultation. It is my sincere hope that you find this blog useful as you consider cosmetic surgery and in helping you make the right decision for you. If there are concerns or questions not covered here, I welcome you to call and schedule a complimentary consultation.
